I remember when ChatGPT first rolled out, I was amazed at the capabilities, but there was something that I’m sure everyone was worried about at the time, “Will our jobs be at stake?” “Is it possible that Artificial Intelligence(AI) could ever replace us?”
After worrying for a long time, I decided to think a bit more about the possibilities and my findings were actually pretty interesting. Today, I’ll share everything that I found out with you!
Finding 1: There are Limitations to Using Robots
One thing that you must have noticed recently is the increase in the use of robots. One common example of this is the use of chatbots in customer service instead of using human representatives. I’ll have to say that the chatbots do a pretty commendable job at it.
For instance, I’m a loyal customer of Xfinity Internet, and whenever I come across a problem, I always reach out to the customer service chatbot, and it resolves my problem as quickly as possible. It also eliminates the need for a virtual waiting line to get our queries heard.
However, there are certain limitations to chatbots as well. For instance, if there is a complex issue that the chatbot isn’t capable of handling, then it redirects the chat to a human representative who can understand and solve the problem. Here, humans take the lead over Artificial Intelligence.
Finding 2: There are Pitfalls of Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Design
If you’ve used programs such as “Midjourney” before, then you would probably know what I am talking about. It is a program in which you give the AI a text input, and it will create an extraordinary image for you! Simple as that. Similarly, you can do the same with Meta AI; just open the Meta AI chat on your WhatsApp and ask it to “Imagine” something for you.
This is something useful for people who are into design and are looking for inspiration. However, this also sparks the thought that if Artificial Intelligence can create absolutely anything, then wouldn’t it put us out of business soon?
The short answer to this is no because you need a human mind and effort to input the prompt in the first place. If you don’t give the AI a prompt, how on Earth is it going to initiate the process in the first place?
Finding 3: Artificial Intelligence is Incapable of Emotional Intelligence
No matter how many algorithms you feed into Artificial Intelligence, and no matter how deep you delve into machine learning, you can never give an AI a sense of emotions. This can hinder the provision of customer support.

For instance, a chatbot would never be able to read the emotions of the customer and wouldn’t know how to deal with the situation. However, a human can read the undertones of frustration and aggravation to mend the situation.
Again, this is something where human intelligence takes the cake over artificial intelligence!
Finding 4: Artificial Intelligence Requires Frequent Fact-Checking
If you recall, when ChatGPT rolled out for the first time in 2022, it only had a limited pool of information; it was incapable of helping out with everything. It took a while to develop that pool of knowledge to where it stands today.
However, that is not the case in human intelligence. While humans are relatively more reliable, there is only an extent to which you can rely on Artificial Intelligence. Fact-checking is always needed to make sure that the information you are getting is reliable enough.
Finding 5: Artificial Intelligence Can’t Think Outside the Box
The thing about Artificial Intelligence is that it can only “think” within the information that it is programmed to process. If you put it in a situation where it has to come up with a solution “out of the box,” it will stall.

However, the human mind is far more complex than that. You can put it through any situation, and it will look for all possible solutions, contrary to Artificial Intelligence. So, if you are looking for something where you need to implement complex strategies, then know that Artificial Intelligence is not your way to go.
Finding 6: Math is the Key Distinction Between AI and Humans
There’s another huge difference between humans and artificial intelligence, and that’s math. Artificial intelligence only relies on huge mathematical codes and patterns to analyze and execute actions.
However, the human mind can go far beyond these mathematical patterns since it is the human mind that developed artificial intelligence in the first place! A human would look at something, and millions of processes would go on in their mind. In the case of AI, it can only comprehend to the extent to which it is allowed.
Key Takeaways
So the question still stands, “will AI ever replace humans?” The easy answer is no because humans are far more advanced than that. It is very unlikely that an AI model will be created that will be as powerful as the human mind, so we don’t really have much to worry about!
